1. Be proactive - involve your boss in the problem
2. Communicate - be a resource to your boss and come prepared with recommendations
3. Keep your team engaged - make sure your team knows their role, are held accountable and that you recognize good behavior
4. Control the narrative - make sure your actions are deliberate and involve others
